Welcome to the Merseyventure Adventure Racing and Outdoor Sports Website
Adventure Racing

Adventure Racing is a quickly growing sport where teams or individuals compete in various outdoor disciplines. Most races include mountain biking, canoeing and trail or fell running, with longer races adding orienteering, night navigation, climbing or other challenging stages.

UK races range from the Hi-Tec Series, a single day event, to four or five day events, such as The Western Isles Challenge.

Merseyside Colleges Cross Country League
Each year, during the winter months, there is an organised cross country league which uses local parks and estates. Although a college league, entry is open to all and is free!! Just turn up and run, everyone is welcome.
The league is now finished for 1999/2000 - but details of the courses are available at the above link.

Two 4.5 mile routes, each with around 50m of climbing on various surfaces, are being written and should be available, with a simple map, soon.

Local Outdoor Links
Please send any details of local outdoor clubs, canoeing, orienteering, running, walking, mountaineering, mountain biking etc., to me to be included in a local links guide. This will be established very soon.
