Mersey Forum
    Amathus Dragon-boat Racing  -  Watersports club for traditional Dragon-boat racing and canoeing activities and competitions.
    Friends of Allonby Canoe Club  -  No website as yet. Contact Edward Smith on 0151 - 526 7286. The club make use of local park lakes during the summer, organise and compete in many canoeing events throughout the year.
    Liverpool University Canoe Club  -  Club for past and present members of the University.
    Byways Bike Breaks  -  Get out and about on your bike without the stress of organising the trip. Byways can supply the routes, maps, bikes and accommodation for breaks throughout the North-west. Based in Liverpool.
    Merseyside Cycling Campaign  -  This organisation are dedicated to implementing a safe and useable cycling strategy in Merseyside. Lots of good information for all Merseyside cyclists.
    Sustrans  -  Not a Merseyside based organisation, but have lots of maps and useful information on local cycle paths, such as the Liverpool Loop Line, which is now  joined to the National Cycle Network.
    MEROC  -  Merseyside Orienteering Club. Organise a full calendar of events around Merseyside, also night orienteering competitions.
    Dee  -  Deeside Orienteering Club. Maintain permanent orienteering courses with three or four on the Wirral. Details of events and courses on their website.
    Running and Athletics
    Liverpool Harriers & Athletics Club  -  Wavertree based running club for training, racing and fitness. Great fixtures for 2000 with help and encouragement from the members.
    Liverpool Pembroke Sefton Harriers and AC  -  Based in Ormskirk, this athletics club have a full calendar of events, including many races in Liverpool, such as the Croxteth Park 10k.
    Climbing / Walking
    Red Rope Climbing and Walking Club  -  Climbing club with socialist principles, offer climbing and walking activities to all.
    General Outdoors
    Liverpool Outdoor Club  -  Established since 1936, the club arranges a varied diary of activities from hill walking and sailing to rock climbing and canoeing. Forthcoming events listed on website.
    Merseyside-IVC  -  Multi activity club who organise and take part in many different outdoor and adventurous sports. Meet in Wirral.
    Environmental / Conservation groups
    Alt 2000  -  Conservation group cleaning up and maintaining the area surrounding the River Alt, as well as the river itself.
    The Mersey Forest  -  maintaining the existing forest areas within the Mersey basin and creating new wooded areas. Arrange a full programme of activities within the woodlands.
    Friends of Childwall Woods and Fields  -  caring for and protecting the Childwall Woods area. No website as yet, but email for details.
    Friends of Williamsons Tunnels  -  very informative site about the history of these tunnels around Liverpool. Contains a map of the known tunnel locations.
    Landlife  -  Court Hey Park, formerly the home of the Gladstone family, is now the home of the National Wildflower Centre. Details on the website.
    Local Retailers
    Cycleworld  -  Local online shopping for bikes and accessories.
    Jacksons-Camping  -  On-line ordering for all camping items. Also range of canoes and inflatables, as well as tents, sleeping bags etc. you can see, the list is pretty small at the moment !!!
