So who is Alan Bitterman. Alan is a singer song writer, his songs are all based on things that have happened to him in his life. He never writes about anything he's not done or been through. His dream was to have an album of his songs that he could hold in his hand. Just to say 'I did this, This is me', if the album never got to chart, then at least he had tried his best, and still had some thing to show for it at the end of the day.
Plank was brought into the studio just after the basic guide tracks had been put down for 4 of the album tracks. His role was just to do keyboards, but this soon changed as the session went on over the next 1 1/2 months, to keyboard work, backing vocals, 2nd Elec.Guitar and some bass guitar work.
Track 5, 'I will be wating', was at first not going to be on the album, but Plank and one of the backing singers Helen, told Alan that it should be put on the album. It took some time but he was worn down at the end of the day, and it was added. The track 'Nowhere to be Seen', was nothing more than a jam that went on till the tape ran out.It was built up from that, only a few bits were added to the first jam.
After the album was done Plank was asked to join Alan and form 'The Legendary Alan Bitterman Band', in which Plank took on the role of lead guitarist, keyboard player and bgv's. To add to this when new members were added, it was Plank's job to teach them the parts and do any new arrangements. Later 3 female backing singers and a second guitarist were added for a full line up of 9 people. That is drums, bass, 3 bgv's, sax, 2nd guitar, Plank and Alan. Plank left the band in Nov '97, soon after the band disbanded.
The CD is no longer being pressed, but with a little luck you will be able to download some of the tracks from the 'Downloads' page soon. In the futrue we may get the album out again from this website.
