AX-1 -- Ready for the Spotlight
The AX-1 is a lightweight, 45-key controller. Its unique, neck-mounted design lets you get the most out of a shoulder-hung playing position while its controllers, including the sustain switch, are situated on the AX-1's "neck" to allow guitar-like playing. The ingenious "Expression Bar" controls pitch bend and modulation according to finger position and pressure, adding increased dynamics to your music. Needless to say, the AX-1 also runs on batteries -- perfect for live performance.
AX-1 -- Ideal MIDI Control Capabilities
The AX-1 can store up to 32 user patches.
Each patch contains tone selections, the upper/lower zones, volume,
reverb/chorus, and the MIDI channel settings. By merely pressing one of the
Patch buttons you can select a variety of settings to play with.
The
AX-1 has 2 key zones and 3 key modes. The keyboard can be separated in upper and
lower zones, allowing you to choose single, split or layer modes for tackling
different music and performance styles.
The AX-1 is optimized for
controlling GS sound modules. The tone number buttons correspond to the GS
format and you can change the Patch Tone Group directly from the buttons on the
panel without checking the tone name or program number on the modules. Program
change/Bank select messages can be sent so you can control all the GS format
sounds easily. Control over an external MIDI sequencer can also be accomplished
via the start/stop button. Moreover, the Data Entry knob/slider can control the
tempo.
