The Killerwhales had a great day
out at the Southend Easter meet on Good Friday, winning an
amazing 57 medals. Of these there were 15 gold medals, 5 silver
and 10 bronze, with six event best times thrown in for good
measure.
Starring again was Kirsty Forbes
(15) with an amazing four event best times out of four, Lewis
Clifford Stephenson (11) and Jodie Momodu (11) also took up the
gauntlet with an event best time each in the Breaststroke.
In the first event, the girls 100
Breast Kirsty took her first gold, with team mates Ellen Scott
(14) and Jodie Momodu (11) also winning gold. Janine Rayner (16)
and Henny Andrews (15) both took silver and Georgia Shaw and
Alice Scott both took bronze. It was a great start to the days
racing and things only got better.
In the second event the boys 100
fly, Daniel Bleach (14) showed how much his training has come on
with a well deserved gold, Daniel Hime also took gold with a
great display of butterfly. Lewis Clifford -Stepehenson (11)
took bronze, in an event that he is continually improving on.
Event three was the girls 100
freestyle, Kirsty taking event best in a new p.b, not bad
considering it was in a 33.3 metre pool. Georgia Shaw (12)
showed what a talent this young lady has by taking gold and
Jodie Momodu (11), Lauren Andrews (15) and Laura Andrews (16)
all taking bronze medals.
The boys 100 backstroke was next,
with Daniel Hime (16) taking silver and Daniel Bleach (14)
bronze to continue the medal haul for the Whales.
Event 5 the girls 100 backstroke
carried on from the beginning, Kirsty Forbes (15) taking her
third event best time and Georgia Shaw (12) with her second Gold
medal of the day. Henny Andrews (15) took silver to her
continuing number of medals and young Heather Wilson keeps on
improving with bronze medal.
In event 6 the boys 100
breaststroke, Lewis Clifford-Stephenson (11) won in a new event
best time, with Daniel Hime (16) taking gold with a very
impressive swim.
The girls 100 fly was Kirsty
Forbes (15) 4th event best time and gold, truly
amazing days swimming, Kirsty really showed her class today.
Georgia Shaw (12) won gold and Katie Hegman (18) also took gold
with a very gutsy performance. Jodie Momodu (11) won silver and
Ellen Scott (14) and Lauren Andrews (15) both took bronze.
In the final event of the day
Lewis C-Stephenson won another gold medal, Lewis is starting to
become a very impressive all round swimmer. Daniel Bleach also
took silver, another young man who is starting to show his real
talent.
With so many
medals, it is not possible to mention everyone, but I can only
say that this was a great all round team effort, well done all
the Whales.
