JODIES DOUBLE TOP.
Jodie Momodu is the best 10 year Breaststroker in Essex.

Killerwhales swimmers battled against the best that Essex has to offer in the latest round of the 2005 Essex County Championships held on Sat/Sun 26th / 27th February at Blackshots Leisure Centre, Grays.

Coming out on top was young Jodie Momodu who pitted her breaststroke skills against other girls in the 100m and 200m races. A super quick heat saw her qualify fastest for the final along with team mate Molly Scott. In the final both girls showed well from the start, Jodie maintained her form throughout to come home first leaving her rivals to fight out the other places. Molly tried her hardest over the four lengths and finished in a fine 5th place. In the 200m event, a heat declared winner,  Jodie again dominated the race by leading from the start and then slowly moving further away from her rivals, she come home first to the ecstatic cheers of her mother and the other Killerwhales supporters. Molly managed a very creditable 8th in the same event. Jodie’s other performance over the weekend was the 400m Individual Medley where she claimed a bronze medal.

Younger sister Henny managed two fine medal finishes despite not training at all due to flu, a flat 100m heat saw her scrape through into the 100m breaststroke final when she really performed pushing the winner all the way to claim silver. She later claimed bronze in the 200m race.
