IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH.
3) The Word of God (The Logos).
-e) The New Testament Scriptures.
The Lord Jesus Christ came and fulfilled the Hebrew prophecy, being the fulfilment of the Law and the Prophets, the entire Holy Scriptures. His life, death and resurrection was witnessed by men and women, some of whom he chose to be his apostles who would build his kingdom on earth. The Lord sent the Holy Spirit, after his ascension into heaven, to dwell with his people, to encourage, direct and empower them. Further inspired instruction on his life and ministry was given to certain of these men who completed the canon of prophetic scripture : Matthew and John of his first disciples wrote books of his life, as did later disciples Luke and Mark ; Luke also wrote the history of the early congregations of the risen Messiah ; the apostles Peter and John also wrote letters of instruction to congregations as did the Messiah' s brothers James and Jude ; Saul was a Pharisee converted by the risen Lord and commissioned to be a missionary to the western world, writing many letters to the early congregations; John was given the prophetic vision of the conquering Messiah who is to return to bring final judgement at the end of the age, and in completing this book of prophecy completed the formation of the Holy Scriptures for all history. Ever since, the congregation of people called out of their sin by the Lord has been bearing witness to him to the ends of the world, as we look to the hope and glory of the New Creation filled with the incorruptible love of the Lord, Creator and Redeemer forever. Amen.
