School of Jesus Christ.

And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Bible Counselling for Mental Illness.

Sin has deeply affected the mental health of mankind. As a race turned in defiance against the Creator, our blood is polluted, our air, our water, our relationships and families are corrupted. The world views mental illness as another obstacle for the abilities of man to overcome in his quest for human progress, not acknowledging the root cause, his sin.

Even much of the "Christian" world looks for answers in humanism to mental health. Theories on self-esteem and self-worth, and combinations of Bible teaching and evolutionary psychology abound. Broken people need the healing love of Christ, the love of God their Creator and Saviour. We need to acknowledge our sin, our need for forgiveness for that sin, and so know redemption and hope of life beyond this broken world. Our Creator has instructed us on healthy nutrition and on his ways for us to live as the people of God. Disciples of Christ need to be a living witness to his healing truth, to pray earnestly for those in need, to tell them of God's unchanging love and care for them as the Lord Jesus has cared for us.

It is important that when we look at the needs and anxieties of those suffering disabling mental illness that we do not corrupt the gospel of Christ for the sake of appearing "right" and popular in the world's eyes. Christ is faithful and hears the prayers of those who love him, it is the lie of satan to believe that we must by ourselves solve people's problems. Let us do all things as God would have them done - then we shall see his signs and wonders through his sovereign power.

We have the divine revelation in history by which to measure our lives and those of others. If we study and apply this in daily life and nourish others with divine truth then there can be genuine healing from the diseases resulting from the sin of Adam. Lord help us to be your vessels in this darkened world.
