IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH.
3) The Word of God (The Logos).
-f) The Life of the Scriptures.
The Creator has revealed himself in a living way through the holy scriptures. The holy spirit of God has moved men to write this living testimony to the history of salvation. Through the victory of the Lord Jesus Christ over death and sin by his life, sufferings, execution and resurrection, the Lord has shown himself personally and in the flesh to mankind and made known the almighty power of the Word of God. The living relationship between father, son and spirit in the Godhead has opened up the mysteries of the prophetic law of God to the renewed heart of man, and the scriptures which before seemed dead and lifeless can be known to be overflowing with spiritual nourishment (to hope everlasting). History is shown to be bound up in the purposes of God, threading together hebrew scripture, Messiah, new testament scripture and the congregation of the living God into everlasting life. The Holy Spirit draws us into closer relationship with our Saviour as we seek him in the scriptural testimony. These are words of life and of transforming efficacy.
g) The Completion of the Scripture.
