IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH.

-h) The confirmation of the perfected Holy
Scriptures (Reformation History).
Many books and writings promote themselves as authoritative and divine. Since the Saviour's victory over death and sin on behalf of all mankind there have been many writings chosen by men and women to be the appointed religious writings. But God has inspired a select body of literature by chosen authors to be our common reference. He has sealed these scriptures with his Holy Spirit and breathed effective fire into their revelation. The same Holy Spirit which gives a person new everlasting life through the Saviour has given us the perfect history of this world. The words of many books have been tested over the years and centuries, and several accounts have been thoroughly questioned and disputed. Yet God in his purposes has brought his heavenly light into the earth and patiently worked in communities of people to make known his holy ways and perfect truth. Additions and subtractions have been tested: the war against the pure truth of God is persistent and enduring. The Reformation period in Europe is a classic demonstration of the importance of basing true religion and society upon the divine revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ, and not on human traditions.
Through repentance and prayer men have sought humbly to submit to the holy Word of God, and the divine canon has been revealed in history in its entirety, preserved through the darkness of the "middle ages", into the light of the Reformation and return to New Testament discipleship. In the councils of the fourth century of the gospel age the books of the holy scripture were confirmed to the world and heretical writings exposed. Individuals chosen by their maker to stand firm on his revelation and word, and to be witnesses of his truth regardless to the consequences to their personal safety have preserved through the centuries the completed canon. The early disciples of the second, third, and fourth centuries of the Christian era gradually collected the divine writings of the new covenant together and so Bibles with old and new covenants were copied and translated until printing technology transformed the way for the propagation of the Holy Bible into all nations in these last centuries.
