IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH.
3) The Word of God (The Logos).
-c) The Canon.
As the divine historical revelation was passed down through Adam's descendants to Noah, the foundational history was preserved intact while God inspired further historical addition and progression. God appointed prophets who knew the foundations to further reveal the saving truth of God in this world. From Noah to Shem and down to Abraham, Isaac, Israel and eventually to Moses the historical books from the Creation until the entry of the people of Israel into the promised land of God is recorded. Moses appointed Joshua as his successor who added as God inspired to the holy scripture canon (the perfect measuring rod/rule).
God saw fit to use a variety of vessels over the centuries to add to his message of divine guidance according to the context of individual lives. Our Creator took care to keep the canon of scriptures pure and unadulterated so that this witness to his truth would be maintained and preserved.
Each book that the Heavenly Father chose to add to the revelation he clearly identified by his spirit and he provided a way to test their validity among the people faithful to Him.
Christ's eventual ministry as incarnate redeemer drew together all the strands of the divine revelation and inspired the final divine scriptures testifying of the grace and truth of God's perfection in holy love.
