| Banning of The High Ground in the UK |

"You're kidding! I've lived in England for a year and it's a very touchy subject, but I thought the show at least tried not to take sides, which is very difficult to do with something that provocative. I do think that to have an episode like that shouldn't be construed as promoting terrorism - that wasn't the message of the show. I'm a little surprised they would be so worried as to not let people make up their own minds. I've never been one for censorship; I think it was silly that it was banned and I don't mean that to put down anyone who has had something awful happen to their family because of terrorists." |

| "I've often thought they could have some episodes that deal with chronic illness - we always seem to have a cure for things, but it's hard to believe that chronic illness is always curable. I'd like to see how the health care system on the ship works - we're given the fact that it's supposed to be great. I'd also like to look at plagues, as we certainly are in the AIDS epidemic here and it would be interesting. We've had plagues throughout history in one form or another, but will they be completely eliminated by the twenty fourth century ? |

| "Meeting the troops in Bosnai was definitely another learning moment for me. I don't quite know how to explain it, but I got out of myself and was completely engaged in the moment. Not only was I in a foreign country, where there were tanks and people with guns everywhere, but I was in a very strange environment. It was as if I was seeing things for the first time. The troops were very happy to meet me and the other people who went. I signed a lot of Star Trek books for a lot of soldiers. I couldn't believe how many of the guys were Star Trek fans. The whole thing was just a very powerful, positive experience." |
