Picard brings his dead body back to me and it raises the question "Did my husband die saving Picard because my husband was on a mission to get Picard back from wherever he was?" So there is a link in my mind and in my emotions and we'll have to wait and see what happens. We don't know how much unconscious resentment there is. It's interesting doing an episode where your character is evolving with a large group of people and you're not exactly sure where it's going yet."

After 6th season
"She has changed, because originally she had a son on the ship. In the character breakdown which I was given when I first did the part - and which I still actually own - it said that she was the love interest of Picard, but bit by bit the writers have gone away from that. Patrick and I get hundreds of letters from fans who keep wanting that to be there, and we try to put it in wherever we can but a lot of it gets edited out."
