Sarek
When ambassador Sarek joins the Enterprise to conduct negatiations, Beverly and Jean-Luc (sitting next to each other) are amazed to see the venerated Vulcan brought to tears by music during a classical recital lead by Data.
Soon after, aggression starts becoming trendy on board. Geordi and Wesley have a heavy duty row with attitude, then Beverly slaps Wesley.
"And then I just slapped him, really hard". Then there’s a big fight in ten forward. Even Riker and Picard have a nasty squabble.
The doctor reckons that Sarek has the rare Vulcan Bendii syndrome which causes loss of emotional control, and his telapathic abilities are projecting this through the crew.
To help Sarek through the negotiations, Jean-Luc agrees a mind meld so Sarek can use Jean-Luc’s sense of emotional control. However, Jean-Luc would share the onslaught of the Vulcan’s lifetime of repressed emotions.
When Jean-Luc cracks up under the burden of Sarek’s powerful outpourings, Beverly provides moral support and physical comfort to the hopelessly crying captain.
