| In engineering, an alien humanoid friend of Wesley's called The Traveller has come to the Enterprise to help him retrieve his detached mother from the static warp bubble inadvertently created during Wesley's earlier experiment. |
| Beverly interrogates the computer to discover why her world is falling apart around her. "We will start with the assumption that I am not crazy. If I am, it won't matter one way or another". |
 |
"If there's nothing wrong with me, maybe there's something wrong with the universe.... Computer, what is the nature of the universe ?" |
| Bad news: | "The universe is a spheroid region, seven hundred and five metres in diameter". |
| Not only have all the crew now disappeared as determined by her thoughts when it was created, but Beverly's warp bubble universe is also shrinking. She realizes that the vortex is the doorway back to the real universe. |
 |
Beverly runs into engineering - the origin of her universe. |
| With the boundary closing in rapidly behind her, she hurls herself through the vortex back into the real world, reunited with the full crew including Wesley, Dr Dailan Quiace, and The Traveller. |
