The doctor searches deperately to find an answer to the intoxicating virus. |
| After doing her hair up, Beverly goes to the bridge. |
| Jean-Luc | Doctor ? |
| Beverly | Captain, can I see you in your room, it’s a private matter, no actually it’s an urgent one. |
| Beverly lets her hair down. |
 |
I believe I have become infected myself, captain. |
| Jean-Luc | Do you know what the infection is ? |
| Beverly | Sorry, it is definitely like alcohol intoxication. The same lack of good judgement, for example, right now, I find you extremely, extremely.... of course we haven’t time for that sort of thing. |
| Jean-Luc | What sort of thing ? |
| Beverly | Oh God, would I like to show you ! |
 |
Beverly moves in on Jean-Luc. |
| Jean-Luc | There must be a cure, some formula, similar to the old one. |
 |
Damn it, damn it, captain, my dear captain. |
| Jean-Luc backs off. |
| Beverly | You owe me something. You do realise that, don’t you ? I’m a woman. I haven’t had the comfort of a husband, a man. |
| Jean-Luc | Not now doctor, please. |
| They shyly wave goodbye to each other as Beverly returns into the turbolift. |
| When Jean-Luc goes later to sick bay, he calls her "Bev", the one and only time. |
