ELECTRONIC MUSIK HISTORY

Electronic Musik was a result of the setting up of a web site for a group of improvising musicians from the UK called LDT.

They beagn to see the possibilities of the internet for the distribution of music in general which had not been available to them before. Also due to the nature of the music of LDT, mainstream distribution channels were not open to them.

They had always been inspired by INCUS, the label set up by Derek Bailey, Tony Oxley and Evan Parker in 1970, again with the intention of distributing their own music ( the first musicians in the UK to do so) and INCUS is still going strong today after thirty five years of fantastic releases. (see the link to the INCUS website)

2005 Update: LDT has now dissolved but the site and label is run by the same musicians. There is a new catalogue of cd's and cdr's and some new artists.
