Welcome to Darrington.
You are about to visit a pleasant village in West Yorkshire. It's three miles from the market town of        Pontefract and twenty five miles from historic York.
The parish is one of the largest in the county of Yorkshire.  Its natural industry is farming. No other place in England shares its name.
Robin Hood is said to have lived round here as the great forest of Sherwood once reached up this way.

Today it is a friendly village with a strong sense of community. The people who live here take a pride in their surroundings.  Annual community events allow residents and friends of Darrington to raise money to maintain its village field and amenities.
Have a look round and get a flavour of the village.
