Starter originally formed in 2001 - 2002. The five piece band feature Rob (rhythm guitar), Lecky (lead vocals), Eddie (lead guitar / backing vocals) and newer recruits Wilesy (violin bass) and Kav (drums). They have been working together since 2003 and played mainly in the Lincoln area.
They play mainly original songs, but include some covers where more suited to the audience. Band members have diverse influences, including The Beatles, The Who, Phil Collins, Queen, Motown and the blues, to The Libertines, Stone Roses, Limp Bizkit, Turin Brakes, Stereophonics, DJ Shadow and Iri. These transmit through to Starters' melodious music which has a commerical sound.
They played at both 2003 and 2004 Mella Yella Festivals in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside. Lecky and Eddie played a live session on BBC Radio Lincolnshire's The Mix programme in Oct 2004 and 2 songs from the the band's new EP 'Old Money' were featured on the same programme in Oct 2005.
