Mature singer to sing m.o.r. 60s 70s music

I am a gigging experienced guitar/vocalist working with edited professional backing tracks [ie no guitar or vocals on tracks]

I am looking for a competent singer male/female to sing mostly the lead tunes as i love to sing harmonies.The general type of music I play is definateley M.O.R. stuff to include roy orbison cliff richard [YES cliff richard] eagles.kinks tom jones monkeys ,,,,well you get the picture

I am a youthful mid fifties guy and experinced in what i do and therefor a mature person who is like-minded would be what i am looking for

The venues that i gig are generally clubs some selected pubs and special occasions . nothing out of the ordinary but i do enjoy what i play and sing very much so enthusiasm is required please

I do enjoy my home life so gigging is usually only a couple of times a month and in general its locally ie lincoln/lincolnshire

Established semi-pro band requires singer for September 2008

Our singer is leaving us after two very successful years. The band is a highly experienced five piece with a strong and growing reputation. We have professional level gear, including 3000 watt Peavey P.A. system. All you need to join us is a great voice and a passion for rock music! We expect to hold auditions over the summer. We have several gigs booked in the Peterborough and South Lincolnshire area up till the end of 2008, but don't want to over-commit ourselves - we generally play once a week (rehearsal or gig) as we all have other projects. Whoever joins the band can be assured of a very professional and friendly welcome, and will be fully involved in the band's future musical direction - we are a very democratic bunch! We have excellent rehearsal facilities and our own eight-track digital recording equipment. Currently we play a mixture of our own material and covers by bands such as The Cult, Velvet Revolver, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Whitesnake, Stereophonics, etc. One of our own songs has been extensively played on local radio recently, and we intend to expand our own writing and recording in the future.

RECORD FAIR ~ NOTTINGHAM

Opportunity for Vinyl owners/ Dealers - Saturday 24th May 10-5pm

View from the Top is hosting a record fair to coincide with the exhibition Cover Versions (artists using recycled LP sleeves as their base/canvas) on the 4th floor Waterstone's, Nottingham City Centre.

Call for -

Vinyl Record sellers - able to sell vinyl from the table top (CDs/DVDs permitted only as small part of vinyl stock) We provide tables (5ft x 3ft trestles) and are offering a single pitch(one trestle) @ £35 for a full day 10-5pm, we can also offer a double pitch(two trestles)@ £55 for a full day 10-5pm

The fair will take place in the events room and the gallery, using the whole space on the 4th floor.(previous fairs we've held have included over 30 stalls)

1. All exhibitors are subject to selection based on first come, first served basis.

2. completion of booking form and payment will secure stall.

3. Tables will be in the events room and will be allocated by VIEW staff - specific requirements will as much as possible be taken into account but we cannot guarantee specific positions. Use of backboards and electric points is severely limited by the exhibition so please enquire beforehand if you wish to use these.

4. Sellers must be in attendance at all times.

5. Sellers must bring a white table cloth/other table covering.

6. Sales and packaging are the responsibility of exhibitors.

7. No commission will be taken by the gallery except where our card facilities are used.

8. Sellers may use our card facilities for sales, in which case, 10% of the selling price will be retained by the gallery.

9. Set-up will be from 8:30 am, and tables must be cleared by 6:00pm on the Saturday 24th May

10. Insurance of stock against loss or damage is the responsibility of the seller and at their discretion.

· High street venue on the top of reputable Waterstone's (fair will be advertised at poster sites throughout the store during the exhibition (including large window spot).

· 10,000 flyers will be produced for the exhibition & fair and distributed throughout the city prior & during the fair.

· Listings in local press

· Mailing list invited of over 1000 contacts.

· Toilet facilities next to meeting room & gallery

· Free tea & coffee facilities, and we are just above Costa Coffee, very central in the city so sandwiches are always nearby.

Guitar strumming Singist Wanted !

I play mandolin, bouzouki, banjo, guitar, and sing a bit. (evidence on lower 2 web links)

Initially I'm looking to form a Duo - You'll play guitar and sing the majority of songs. I'm up for singing a slack handfull and harmonising on chorus's.

Preferably you'll be in the Cottingham area of Hull and keen on frantic Irish celtic jiggy music along the lines of Saw Doctors, Pogues, Flogging Molly, Levellers, REM, Waterboys plus a bit of trad stuff such as Cheiftains, Dubliners etc.

I'd rather stick to playing mandolin, and banjo as secondary.

I also offer mandolin, 5-string banjo, and guitar lessons - all of which aimed at beginners.

Bass Player and Drummer Required

Bass Player and Drummer Required. Original Christian/Gospel band looking for a bass player and a drummer. We have a CD recorded already, and want to start recording our next one, as well as getting out and playing live gigs asap.

We have our own studio for recording and rehearsing and loads of original material.

Style is bluesy/rocky/jazzy and some powerful ballads. We are looking for a big powerful sound, and currently have Lead Vocals (female), Lead Guitar and Keyboards. The music is Gospel/Christian oriented but in general just good strong meaningful songs.
