DRUMMER REQUIRED TO JOIN SKROO LOOSE
Despite Lee making a brave attempt at giving it another go, his health has forced him to make the painful decision to retire from drumming. So we are now DEFINATELY looking for a new drummer to replace him. In brief: We're a rock band that plays everything (if that makes sense). We rarely go further north of Lincoln but do have a few gigs as far south as Huntingdon (Cambs). We go as far east as the coast allows and as far west as the A1. This isn't a rule but a tendency. You can see a list of our repertoire at www.skrooloose.com
Own transport vital as well as a good sense of humour. Either e.mail martin@darkmatters.tv or phone Steve on 01522 885922

VOCALIST REQUIRED
Opportunity for lead vocalist to join established rock n roll showband. "Three Parts Cut" require a committed frontman (or girl) with voice, personality, ability to read an audience and entertain. The band is a well established stable unit and has work in hand on the club, dance and event circuit. If you enjoy, and have a knowlege of, the classic rock n roll songs of the fifties and early sixties, and have a professional attitude to presentation and entertainment ( the ability to play an instrument would also be handy), then log onto www.3partscut.co.uk and check out the band. Click on the video section of the website to see the band in action (give it time to load).
If you like what you see and think you tick the right boxes, you will find the e- mail address in the 'contact us' section of the website. Send us an e-mail and tell us about yourself. Don't forget to leave a contact number. Your contact will not appear on the site and will be treated with complete confidence.
Cheers, Phil
(I'm the little guy at the front with the big guitar. I'm getting too old to do it all myself but still gonna keep playing the guitar and sing a few).

Guitarist & Drummer wanted for Jiggy band!
Myself on the mandolin (and a bit of warbling) and a bassist (will warble on chorus) are looking at the idea of forming a band along the lines of Saw Doctors, Pogues, Levellers, Jethro Tull, and a lil of the Oirish stuff thrown in for good measure...etc
We do realise that finding musicians wanting to play the same thing as us is quite possibly more rare than locating the preverbial rocking horse she-yite on Ebay!
If you sing and play guitar - drop me a line.
If you play drums and aren't afraid of warbling - drop me a line.
I'm in Grimsby, bassist in Lincoln. If you're prepared to travel and don't mind the odd late night then please contact me on freaky_mandolin@ntlworld.com or call 07871 902 417.

GOOD GETS BETTER!
GOOD THINGS CRAFT & VINTAGE SHOWCASE + OPEN MIC SESSIONS (10am - 4pm) - THE HEALTHY HUB, BEAUMONT FEE, LINCOLN
CRAFT and vintage showcase Good Things will be even bigger and better when it returns in Lincoln this month.
Following the success of its city-centre debut at Easter, the event is returning for a brilliant Bank Holiday explosion of new and innovative craft combined with vintage fashion, reclaimed and recycled objects, and much more.
Good Things, a series of showcase events designed to offer young local craftspeople an outlet for their creations, began in the city's West End four years ago but made the leap into the The Healthy Hub, Beaumont Fee, at Easter.
The effect was to allow an even wider range of young craftspeople to exhibit their work and give hundreds of prospective customers the opportunity to see the kinds and quality of craft and other items being made by young people in the city.
"We were delighted at the response Good Things received when we staged our first event at The Healthy Hub. Lots of people came in over the two days and were very impressed with the creations ranging from ceramics, jewellery and cards to items made from reclaimed china cups and plates," said co-founder Maria Lyon.
"This Bank Holiday Good Things will be open for three days and is exhibiting work by even more young people, all of which will be on sale."
Good Things was created by the producers of YoungPlugged 51; the acclaimed series of acoustic open mic nights for young musicians which also returns to the city next month 51; and is being staged at The Healthy Hub from Saturday-Monday, August 29-31. Admission is free.
The venue will be open each day from 10am until 4pm and besides its usual menu, the Hub restaurant will serve a range of cupcakes, ice creams and cream teas for the event.
City-trained ceramicist and Good Things co-founder Natalie Roberts, who runs the Upsy-Daisy label, added: "We are really looking forward to having another chance to show visitors the kinds of talent and innovation the event was designed to showcase.
"We hope that once again people will take some time to enjoy the event, the venue, and the items on display."
The Bank Holiday weekend is also another chance for young people to take along craft or work of their own to show the organisers. They may then be invited to take part in a future Good Things event.

BROADSWORD - Folk-Rock trio seeking Bookings
We are BROADSWORD and we come from Grimsby UK. We're a lively jiggy folk-rock trio with the accent on fun and entertainment using mandolin, banjo, guitar, and percussionary delights including a washboard too! Playing a mix of classic Irish jiggy stuff through to classic rock from the likes of Pogues, Flogging Molly, Steve Earle, Cheiftains, Saw Doctors, Levellers, Eagles, Thin Lizzy, Tom Jones, Rolling Stones, and even Queen!
Please feel free to check out my Myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/mandolinmania hopefully it'll give you an idea of the type of thing we do and like to play. Tracks 3, 4, and 5 are Broadsword recordings at a gig last year. Even better, have a look at the write-up we got at this site ->

More than happy to provide references from pub landlords and will happily put you in touch with them if you'd like to get it from the horses mouth as it were. Have also played weddings, corporate occasions, parties, galas and festivals. Please note we can play totally acoustic or through a P.A system - whichever is preferable to the individual venue.
