|JAZZ JAM SESSION|
Len Holden has taken over the jazz jam sessions at the Musician, Clyde Street, Leicester (Tel: 0116 - 2510080) from Chris Beggs. The next Jam session is on WEDNESDAY 30TH JANUARY FROM 8pm.
He would also like to briefly outline the philosophy and aims of the jam sessions.
Firstly, it is to act as a forum where experienced musicians can play freely with other musicians and exchange ideas.
Secondly, we strongly support the forum as a place where less experienced musicians can find a public platform for their playing. We welcome novices and amateur players who do not regularly play. We wish to give them the support and nurture they need. We feel that the sessions have already done this magnificently in the past and we would wish that tradition to continue.
Thirdly, we wish the sessions to be a contact point where musicians and jazz lovers can meet and network in a relaxed atmosphere.
Fourthly, we more than welcome non-players and hope that the sessions inspire them to take an instrument and blow, but most of all we hope they come and listen to some good music.
Fifthly, keep music live and jazz alive!
