| The Kevin Thorpe Memorial Award for Original British Blues Song of the Year 2013 Fifteen British Blues Programme Presenters have nominated 4 songs each for the 2013 KT Award. You can still listen to the 60 songs which were nominated, though voting has now closed. There are also links to the 15 blues shows, listen to these shows to find out which 15 songs have been voted to go through to the finals. |

| Evening Music Shows Axed! Despite listeners' protests BBC East Midlands have axed Folkwaves, Mick Smith's Country (now broadcasting here! ), Celtic Fringe (See Radio MIMF coming shortly!) and Jazz Incorporated shows after many years of broadcasting. The shows will be replaced with a 3 hour programme that appeals to a "wider number of licence fee payers in the East Midlands" providing "more accessible local radio in the evening" that can "react to breaking news."
