Unfortunately Ruth Wyand who was due to appear at the club in May has had to postponed her May tour due to family illness, she hopes to reschedule her UK tour for October 2001 ~ We have been fortunate to be able to bring a top blues duo to the Heart Of Lincolnshire on the date originally scheduled.

Thursday 17th May ~ £4.00

Lincolnshire based blues duo featuring Old Cootie (alias Dick Appleton) on acoustic steel and wooden bodied guitars plus some vocals & The Harpman (alias Ken Mayle) blues harp & vocals. "Strong harp & fine slide guitar ... Harpman does most of the vocals and has a good lived-in bluesy voice. .... Acoustic fans will find this duo worth watching out for" (Blueprint). They perform material from the early days including Slim Harpo, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Rev.Gary Davis .... their 1999 CD "An Hour From The .... Crossroads Diner' is homage to those hard travellin', hard drinkin', hard workin' days in the dustbowls, cottonfields and gin joints of a bygone era, except that the blues are as relevent today as they ever were" (Indie-pendant Blues). Dick is well known in folk circles, whilst Ken is frontman with the Walter Harpman Band, together they take the blues right back to the Delta, back to the Crossroads where the story began, go there with them and taste the blues at the Crossroads Diner!
