The Heart Of Lincolnshire Folk, Roots & Blues Club are very pleased to welcome back Cliff Stocker, the charismatic frontman and founder member of one of Britain's finest live blues bands Slack Alice & his songwriting partner Paul Lucker who also plays keyboards on the band's three CD's team for their special Christmas concert.

The duo who played on the Lincolnshire County Council Bandstand at the 2003 Lincolnshire Show will perform a set of original songs, including numbers that feature on Slack Alice CD's but are now rarely played live such as 'My Little Girl'. They also include songs from Leadbelly, The Animals and Warren Zevon as well as blues classics during this rare 'unplugged' show.

This is a very rare opportunity to hear them play live, last year Cliff and Paul showcased some of their acoustic songs on Mick Smith's BBC East Midlands radio show.

A singer whose gravel toned voice oozes the blues, Cliff also plays harmonica and acoustic guitar. During his long & fascinating career he has played with many of the blues greats including John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon in the 60's. Thirty years ago Cliff formed the band Slack Alice, who flirted with the big time in the mid 70's, and who reformed in the mid 90's, becoming festival favourites at Colne and Skegness Rock & Blues Festivals.

The full band have appeared locally at Woodhall, at arts centres in Boston, Gainsborough and the Skegness Embassy Theatre during the past 3 years, this acoustic set has been heard only in Woodhall and at reheasals!

Cliff will recount some of the many stories he has to tell between songs. Talented keyboard player Paul Lucker provides superb backing and a few stories of his own in a show that is informal, and laid back, yet one that will be both entertaining and memorable.

The concert which takes place at the Eagle Lodge Hotel on The Braodway, Woodhall Spa, will provide the area's music lovers with a rare opportunity to see another side of this fabulous band at a small venue!

Tickets priced £5.00 (accompanied children U16 admitted free) can be reserved in advance by tel. 01526 343989 or purchased, subject to availability on the night. Doors open 8pm, concert starts approx 8.30pm.

Please note for the comfort of the artists performing the concert room will be 'no smoking' venue.
