plus special guest SAMANTHA HOLMES

Thursday 13th Sept

"His musicianship is beyond question, while his arrangments set a standard against which other albums ought to be measured" (Daily Telegraph)

'Intoxicating & uplifting' (Mojo Magazine)

We are very pleased to be able to bring one of Britain's top singer-songwriters to Woodhall. Steve is also a critically admired guitarist whose style has an almost classical feel, indeed Steve toured as a musician with the Ballet Rambert. He has written classic songs such as 'Slips, Jigs & Reels' (covered by Faiport Convention) & 'Tom Paine'. He released his debut album as long ago as 1971, and since recorded numerous albums both as a solo performer, with Maggie Boyle and with the band Ship Of Fools (whose line-up also included guitar legend John Renbourn). Steve's work is influenced by a variety of styles, from English folk, Spanish, Classical & to Blues (he co-wrote 'Can't Shake These Blues' with Chris Smither), his vocal style is almost 'laid-back' which combines beautifully with his guitar work.

An added bonus for fans of the acoustic guitar will be the appearance of Samantha Holmes (of Dark Lantern) who will perform a short set of specially selected guitar orientated music and songs ~ her first appearance in Lincolnshire for a number of years!

With two great talents appearing in the intimate setting of the Heart Of Lincolnshire Folk, Roots & Blues Club, this will be a very special night!
