THU 21 MAR 2002

We are very pleased to bring one of the country's finest guitarists to Woodhall Spa, Mark who is a member of Jools Holland's Rhythm & Blues Orchestra will be appearing at the club as part of a short tour of UK venues promoting his forthcoming CD, 'The Chosen Few'. Woodhall is one of only a very few places Mark has selected to play on this tour. He will be joined by Gary Foote, who is the sax player / percussionist with the Joan Armatrading Band. This special concert will take place at the Eagle Lodge Hotel in Woodhall Spa on Thursday 21st March, starting at approx. 8.30pm.

Mark, who has played over 1000 gigs with Jools Holland's Rhythm'n'Blues Orchestra since joining them following a jam session at the Edinburgh Festival in 1988 is joined by another top musician, saxophonist and percussionist Gary Foote, who has been a member of Joan Armatrading's touring band for over a decade.

Mark has performed on many live TV shows, where he has accompanied anyone from Chaka Khan to Paul Weller, Barry White to Eric Clapton, whilst Gary has also toured with Jamiroquai and the Zoot Money Band and appeared on Top Of The Pops with Tom Jones and The Bee Gees. A stylish live performer, Mark has a real feel for playing 'down home' acoustic blues

The duo will be performing an eclectic mix of acoustic country blues with influences ranging from New Orleans to Senegal, with of course, songs from the new album. It will be a rare opportunity to see these top musicians appearing in the intimate setting of your local music club.
