Following their sellout show by the Slim Line Papas, the Heart Of Lincolnshire Folk, Roots & Blues Club bring two of Britain's brightest young folk stars to the Eagle Lodge Hotel in Woodhall Spa. Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman first appeared in Woodhall Spa in January 2002 attracting one of the club's largest audiences, they will be returning to the Eagle Lodge Hotel on Thursday 13th May.

They spend much of their time touring with the folk-rock crossover band Equation who play to packed houses across Europe and North America, but between these high profile tours Kathryn and Sean enjoy performing in Britain's folk clubs where their musical roots lie. Their passion and love of performing in these intimate clubs led to their nomination for the BBC Radio 2 Folk 'Best Duo' Award in 2003.

Both Kathryn, who sings and plays keyboards and Sean who plays guitar began their musical careers playing at local folk clubs in Yorkshire and Devon respectively. In the 90's Sean was a member of the Lakeman Brothers group whilst Kathryn became the first vocalist to win the prestigious BBC Radio Young Tradition Award in 1994. She formed a musical partnership with Kate Rusby and the duo recorded the UK's 'Folk Album Of The Year' in 1995 and later worked together in Equation.

Since their memorable first appearance at the club, Kathryn and Sean have released their second album and their music has been featured on BBC Radio 2 on both Bob Harris and Mike Harding's radio shows. Mike Harding describes Kathryn's voice as "one of the best voices on the scene". Their memorable live shows feature an eclectic repertoire of fiery traditional songs alongside favourites form the likes of Suzanne Vega and Tom Waits.
