HEART OF GLASS
Formed in September 2000, Blondie tribute band Heart Of Glass have over the past 3 years built up a reputation as the best Blondie tribute band in the land. The band's members are based in Lincolnshire / Yorkshire and the band have been featured on Yorkshire TV, with an interview with Debbie Harry soundalookalike, Denise Danielle and Heart of Glass's faithful reproductions of classic Blondie tracks such as 'Hangin on the Telephone' and 'Picture This' ". (What's On? 20/4/02).
Fronted by blonde bombshell Denise Danielle, the band feature brothers Johnny & Pete Cox on bass & lead guitar respectively, Jonah Lacey-Hatton on drums and James Wells on keyboards. Denise began her musical career singing in Lincolnshire venues as 'Little Miss Dynamite' when aged just 13. Later she appeared on Childrens TV, winning 'Junior Showtime' alongside Bonnie Langford. Later she acted with Sting on TV (Artimus 82) and with Wendy Craig (The Nanny). She also did some modelling around this time. Behind Denise, Heart Of Glass recreate the big pop sound that Blondie were renowned for with dazzling guitarwork from Pete, whilst John & Jonah provide the arousing Blondie-esque rhythms and James adds the synth textures to complete the sound that made Blondie one of the hottest pop acts in the late 70's and early 80's.
Since their formation, Heart of Glass have gone from strength to strength. The band now plays nationally in venues as diverse as clubs, outdoor events, Motorcycle News rallies (Butlins), corporate entertainment and leisure groups such as Butlins and Pontins. They have appeared on the same bill as pop stars Suzi Quatro, Wizzard, Hazel Dean, T'Pau, The Nolans, Imagination, Curiosity Killed The Cat, Dr & The Medics and The Pretenders.
"Heart of Glass use vintage instruments to achieve the authentic 80's sound and treat their audiences to over 90 minutes of classic Blondie. The show features costume changes and a dynamic line-up that reproduces Blondie in their prime. Expect all your favourite Blondie hits from their first hit 'Denis' to their latest single 'Good Boys'.
