~ BOSTON FOLK CLUB ~ HISTORY

Boston Folk Club was formed in the 60's and has continued to bring folk music to the town into the 21st century. The club has met at a number of different venues around the town over the years, including Blackfriars Arts Centre, The Copper Kettle and most recently The Eagle pub.

Many artists have appeared at the club over the years, most notably Paul Simon, Martin Carthy MBE, and Kate Rusby.

One of the founder members was Bob Neish and though not a performing musician himself, Bob was an ardent supporter of the club for over 40 years and previewed and reported on the club's gigs in the local press for many years. Sadly Bob passed away in May 2012, but he is very fondly remembered by all who knew him.

There is so much more to tell, and this page will be updated when time allows or info is received.
