The Blues Connection was formed in the late summer of 2001 an offshoot from a former six-piece band.

Today the music is undergoing a transformation. The line up varies. Pete, with his background in Ragtime finger style guitar now playing a range of acoustic guitar styles performs a number of solo gigs. He is often joined by Helen whose distinctive deep bluesy voice adds style. Bob "easy" Reid still make his blues harp talk and he plays a number of gigs with the trio as "The Blues Connection". New developments are underway and the music is moving on.

Influences range from very early ragtime and blues to more contemporary music and it is the structure of the tunes and nature of the lyrics that determine what numbers are to be covered. A number of own compositions are performed as well as new arrangements of traditional and contemporary songs.

Influences have ranged from early blues artists such as Ma Rainey, Blind Arthur Blake, Blind Boy Fuller, Reverend Gary Davis to contemporary musicians such as Geof Muldaur, Eric Bibb, John Renbourn , Tommy Emmanuel, Madeleine Peyroux and many others.

CDs are available including "The Stuff Is Here", The Blues Connection Live" and "Rags and Riches".

Pete Wray and his friends are very keen to play their brand of music to anyone interested and it is always their aim to have a good time doing so!!
