Folky Yellowbelly trio from the mid Lincolnshire fen village, Billinghay, pronouced 'Billinger' by the local inhabitants. Set in the misty low lying fens, Billinghay was once an island and few migrated either out or in in olden days.

The Ruffs were formed in 2003 and first made their name outside of the Golden Cross pub when they took part in that year's BBC Radio Lincolnshire Folk Song Competition, though their song 'Billinger Ruff' did not win the competition, their performance of it earnt them the Musicians Union Performance Award.

The trio are Glynn Pout, Trevor Glenn and Mick Brommell. Mick also plays in the covers band Just For Kicks.

The band released an EP featuring their Christmas single, and their three song competition entries in Autumn 2005.
