Below are the 7 Enumeration Districts included in the Parish of Strathdon. This includes the District of Corgarff. The disjoined part of the Parish of Tarland which lay on the north side of the River Don between Corgarff and Strathdon (later incorporated into the Q.S Parish of Corgarff), and that part of Migvie Parish in Deskryside are also represented.

Every abode and resident listed on the Census has been recorded .

The McHardys appearing in a few households in the adjoining Parish of Towie are also given at the bottom.

PARISH OF STRATHDON 1841
Enumeration District 1

As much of the Parish of Strathdon as lies on the north side of the River Don extending from the western extremity of the parish to the Toll bar of Colnabaichan where the Parish of Tarland intersects the Parish of Strathdon.

Enumeration District 2

So much of the Parish of Strathdon as lies on the south side of the River Don extending from the western boundaries of the parish to the burn of the Boil in the east.

Enumeration District 3

So much of the Parish of Strathdon as lies on the south side of the River Don between the burn of Boil on the south and the Manse of Strathdon in the east.

Enumeration District 4

So much of the Parish of Strathdon as lies on the north side of the Don extending from the boundary of the disjoined part of Tarland Parish on the west to the bridge of Culinquhart(?) on the east.

Enumeration District 5

That part of the Parish of Strathdon known by the name of the Ground of Newe lying on both sides of the River Don and extending from the Manse on the right bank of the river and the Bridge of Colunquhast on the left to the Little Tolly and Buchaam inclusive on the east.

Enumeration District 6

That part of the Parish of Strathdon known by the name of Deskryside including Semeil and Heughead and leading along the north side of the Deskry to the eastern extremity of the Parish on the south side of the River Don.

Enumeration District 7

So much of the Parish of Strathdon as lies between the Bridge of Bucket on the north side of the River Don and the eastern boundary of the Parish. [I think much if not all of this district was later to become part of the Parish of Towie]

Enumeration District 4

So much of the Parish of Migvie as lies in Deskry.

Enumeration District 5

So much of the Parish of Tarland as lies in Strathdon. [This disjoined part of the parish runs from the Toll House at Colnabaichan in Corgarff to Candacraig on the north side of the River Don. It was to be incorporated into the Quad Sacre Parish of Corgarff in 1873 or thereabouts].

The Parish of Glenbuchat lies to the northeast of the Parish of Strathdon. In these lists only the households which contain McHardys have been copied.
