Corgarff and Strathdon form the westernmost parts of the Don Valley. The parish of Strathdon is now incorporated into Upper Donside Parish.

Towie parish lies to the east of Strathdon and is also incorporated into Upper Donside Parish. The War Memorial stands at a road junction in Glenkindie Village.
